Pick Fruit for Cash
Need some ideas for pumping up your sales? Often
it’s suggested that you pick the low hanging
fruit.
What does that mean?
According to www.clichesite.com, it
means “Choose the easy deals or sales.” I think of it
as picking ripe fruit that’s right in front of
our eyes. But, because we’ve been working so
hard to get new customers our focus hasn't
been on the opportunities right in front of us.
Have you ever scanned through a photo album and
come across something or someone you
hadn’t
thought of for a long time? Try taking a look through
your customer files and notice the customers who
made a purchase from you in the past but that you
haven’t heard from in quite some time.
Do you think they’re just going to pick up the phone
one day and place another order?
Unlikely! Odds are
they haven’t thought about you or your business in
quite some time. And, unless you initiate contact, that
won't change anytime soon.
Assuming you have quality products and services, if
that customer bought once from you, chances are
they’ll have a similar need again – unless,
of course, it
was a prepaid funeral plan you sold them.
Your customer files are what I’m referring to when I
talk about the ripe fruit in front of us – waiting to be
picked. They already know about you – already
like
your products and services. You’ve already sold
them. Now, all you need is to present another
opportunity to solve a problem for them.
You help them solve a problem – they help you –
cash for fruit!
