Success Stories These success stories will give you a sense of the kind of problems we work with, how we approach them and the kind of results we get.
A resort offered daily snorkeling and scuba diving excursions from the city where many of the large resorts were located to a more remote location where pristine underwater reefs teaming with tropical fish awaited. As we worked with the resort, it became apparent the operations of these excursions had reached a plateau. It became apparent that local booking agents, the source of 75% of the bookings for these trips, were unfamiliar and uninterested in these excursions. Not only were these local booking agents not familiar with what scuba diving entailed but, frankly, were scared to death of the water. By conducting scuba demonstrations for these booking agents that were informative and fun, and updating promotional materials available to these agents, sales of these excursions increased 50% over the previous several years. As an added bonus, these sales were generated using half the staff used in previous years. This was accomplished by using the same promotional materials provided to the booking agents for pool demonstrations at the major resorts, as well as eliminating unproductive staff wait time.
We worked with the staff of the Radiology Department to understand the current practices and to develop new procedures which included control totals by procedure. We worked closely with the radiology practice to begin monthly remittances of current collected fees along with a reconciliation of accounts receivable/payable between the healthcare facility and the radiology practice. Having corrected the procedures going forward which meant an additional $60,000 per year, we then worked with the Radiology Department to uncover the historical amounts due from the radiology practice. After working with the radiology practice to reconcile differences, we received $100,000 for the healthcare facility that would have otherwise never been collected.
This individual had worked for a fortune 500 company for 9 years, secretly yearning to leave the security of the corporate world for a business of her own. We put her dream on paper, adding clarity by developing a long term goal that was specific and measured by an outcome of $75,000 annualized revenue in 1 ½ years. We then developed short term goals to support her long term goal of having her own successful business. Realistic action steps were detailed keeping in mind her needs of working a full time job while starting her business. These action steps were accompanied throughout the process via telephone or email alerts to keep her on track to meet her short term and long term goals so that her dream of leaving the corporate world to run her own business became reality.
